Since 1992, Terry has guided buyers, sellers, and investors throughout the Bismarck-Mandan area with a reputation for professionalism, results, and genuine care.

A Journey Built on Service and Community

After earning his degree in accounting from the University of Mary, Terry and his wife, Melinda, opened a property management company — an experience that sparked his lifelong passion for helping people find a place to call home. What began as a business soon became a calling, and in 1992, Terry transitioned full-time into real estate. By 1997, he joined CENTURY 21 Morrison Realty, where he continues to serve clients with the same integrity and commitment he started with more than three decades ago.

Beyond his daily work, Terry has also played a role in shaping the local real estate industry. In 1999, he served on the Bismarck-Mandan Board of REALTORS® committee that transitioned property listings from a printed book to the area’s first MLS database online. In 2024, he returned to the Board as Vice President, continuing to advocate for professionalism and progress in North Dakota real estate.

Expanding into Commercial Real Estate

In addition to residential real estate, Terry has developed a respected presence in the commercial sector. He’s earned the CENTURY 21 Commercial Network designation and has worked with numerous clients on shop condominiums, investment properties, and business sites. His involvement in the Runway 29 development has allowed him to merge his real estate insight with community growth and economic development.

Family, Faith, and Everyday Life

Away from real estate, family is at the center of everything Terry does. Married to Melinda since 1989, the couple shares two daughters, Haley and Amber, and now enjoys life as proud grandparents to Bryn. Whether cheering at sprint car races, traveling with family, or relaxing at home by the pool, Terry values the same things he strives to help others find — comfort, connection, and a place to belong.

Haley Emmel serves as a licensed assistant and transaction coordinator for REALTOR® Terry Stevahn. Since joining the business in 2015, Haley has helped manage listings, contracts, and marketing with organization, care, and attention to detail. She ensures every transaction runs smoothly and that clients feel supported from start to finish.

Born and raised in Bismarck, Haley brings a strong local perspective and a genuine passion for the people and places that make this community home. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Blake, and their daughter, Bryn — who’s already known for brightening everyone’s day when she visits the office.
